Blog 11-3-15 – Things are late, and unfortunately will continue to be late

Hello followers and viewers. I value my schedule highly, and I believe I have done a good job over the last long while of keeping up with that schedule. That being said, if you view my content with any regularity you will have seen that I have been late the past few weeks on a few things, and have unfortunately exceeded previous records of my own lateness. This is especially not fun for me with my comics, which I consider the core of my online content.

Now I don’t want to just make excuses, but I have had a few things happen recently that have made progressing more difficult. I moved into a “limbo” situation that has not gotten resolved as quickly as I had hoped, and makes my work and living environments undesirable from a “getting things done” or “moving around comfortably in clear spaces” kind of way. I’ve also had to change jobs to one with irregular hours that prevents me from being in “work mode” for my various comic and article writing/drawing. And finally I have a large project I’ve been working on with a very hard deadline that is very behind schedule. I’ll talk about that more as it nears completion.

So with all of those things I was still able to be on top of things for a while, but it wasn’t going to last. And it looks like things will be problematic for a little while longer. I hope you can bear with me while I work this out, and I hope to have all of the items I have been late on and caught up to all of the new content by the end of November, but it might end up closer to the end of the year. I hope you enjoy the content regardless and I hope your holiday season is less stressful than mine is going to be.

Best Wishes,

Austin Smith

Blog 10-16-15

(I really wanted this to be on 15-15 but alas)

Okay guys, quick couple of updates.

  1. No Wednesday extra thing obviously, and maybe not next week either, I have to take a trip soon and I’m working on several large projects with a deadline of next month so I’m a bit swamped right at the moment, but I will try and get one done.
  2. That art show I mentioned before that I will be in has been postponed. More information will be coming, but not as soon as I’d hoped.

And that’s it for now.

Blog – 10-7-15

It looks like my additional post Wednesday is just becoming Blog Wednesday. Anyway, I’m going to keep it short. I had another migraine yesterday that put me out for the entire day and most of today. So things from Wednesday to Thursday will be a bit late coming out.

But in good news I will be displaying my art in a show in Alpine Texas with two other wonderfully talented people, more details will be coming about that soon, like when, where, and with whom.

I Enjoyed BBCC

This Labor Day weekend I attended the Big Bend Comic Con and had a blast. After getting things done for a month in advance, moving, and getting my books created and ordered it was great to be able to go to such an interesting and fun event. Meeting new people and seeing some old friends was a blast. I really enjoyed the event and I thank everyone who was both interested in and purchased my books.

Me and my setup

I don’t know anything about the future of the event, but I would definitely like to attend the next convention. I’m also looking into events around the area in the near future.

I hope you had a good and restful Labor Day weekend. I know I did, and I’m ready to get back to working.

Blog 8-26-15 – Moving and Mini Convention

Hello folks! Unfortunately today there will be no extra review or article post like the last few weeks as I am moving and had to prioritize many of the more regularly scheduled items. This is the same reason many of the videos I have planned have been delayed. There is another EDC series to go with the summer blog posts, and a few other fun ones in the making right now. I hope to put these up soon after I get my life smoothed over.

But in more exciting news, I have been working on 4 books, 2 more collections of my web-comics, and two updated versions of small books I did previously. If all goes well, these books will premier at the Big Bend Mini Comic Con on September 5, at which I will have a table. When they are released, I will have a separate post dedicated to that.

I hope the summer went (and is going) well for all of you, and I hope you can be patient with the posting schedule. And if you’re in or around the Big Bend area of Texas on September 5th, I’d recommend coming this new fledgling event in Alpine.
